As you all know, I am a sucker for skincare. I pretend I’m not addicted but my bank balance says otherwise…sorry, not sorry. I just can’t help myself! This week I have bought two new products that I’ve read a lot of positive things about for sensitive skin and in this post I’m going to tell you what I think of them so far.
First up is Child’s Farm Baby Moisturiser from Boots for £3.99. I think we’ve all seen the article of this cream recently with the mum who couldn’t find anything to soothe her baby’s eczema until she stumbled upon this. Normally I don’t read too much into those stories because they’re EVERYWHERE and most of the time they’re bullshit. For £3.99 I just couldn’t say no. This is a lotion rather than a cream, which I was disappointed with at first because we all know I love a heavy cream but it’s really moisturising! After I did a skin test I put it all over my face and it didn’t sting or irritate my eczema at all. After it sank in my skin felt really soft and no joke, this stuff smells AMAZING. It smells like babies! It’s definitely a gentle moisturiser and a little goes a long way but I’m not blown away by it. I’m going to keep trying it though, if anything just for the smell! Don’t judge me.
Next up is the Dr.Organic Hemp Oil 24 Hour Rescue Cream from Holland & Barrett for £8.99. I’ve heard that hemp oil is really good for eczema and other skin conditions so I thought I would give this a try. The ‘rescue cream’ bit also sold it to me because please someone rescue my shit skin!!! This is a heavy cream that I have been putting on at night rather than in the morning because of the thickness. It sinks in really nicely though and my skin instantly felt hydrated. I have a few stubborn dry patches on my chin and upper lip at the minute, attractive, but I have noticed a big different after one use! This smells a lot like Pure Potions Skin Salvation, which reeaaalllyyyy doesn’t work for me so I was getting intense flash backs at first but once it soothed that scabby lip I forgot all about it. Deffo a winner for me so far and I am going to keep using it to see what else it can sort out!
